Each of our architecture and interior design projects, from high-end residential to hospitality and commercial spaces, comprises this unique blend of talent and process. When it comes to patterns, we find that stripes, checks, plaids and even some florals will never go out of style. In terms of the scale of the pattern, we find that wallpaper with a smaller size pattern tends to feel more subtle and in turn, more timeless. As with most things, we prefer natural material wallpapers like grasscloth, linens, or papers with a woven natural fiber.

Wynn, who is a LACMA board co-chair, has already given LACMA $50 million — one of the largest single gifts in LACMA’s history — Govan notes, adding that he doesn’t know how much more the L.A. Heather Harmon, executive director of Las Vegas Museum of Art, says the museum is tentatively slated to open in 2028 and has established a campaign fundraising goal of $150 million, as well as plans for an endowment. A newsletter that breaks down interior design topics each week, discusses different philosophical thoughts on the home, and shares honest and helpful product recommends. In addition to the products they create and sell, the Castle offers self-catering cottages, salmon fishing, the Walled Garden tours, a cafe, fresh produce and tween and bone china products inspired by the castle. Angus and Zara have diversified and created a sustainable business that can hopefully support and keep the castle running and in good repair for generations to come. When Gordon and Zara took over the estate in 2008, their idea was to restore the 8 acre walled garden, make it sustainable and create an income from it.

If interested in full home furnishing, please see our Full Service Design page. Yes, I know they are “out” and colorful kitchen and dark cabinets are in, but I personally have never followed the trends. I think people should live with and how they like, if you love the farmhouse look, or are a minimalist, love white rooms and furniture, enjoy. It’s no secret wallpaper has gone in and out of style over the last century but I would argue, when chosen right, wallpaper can be timeless and tasteful.
It is rare to find a designer adept as Michele that has a firm grasp on both the technical aspects and creative aspects of projects large and small. Las Vegas, with a metro area population of nearly 3 million, is one of the largest cities in the country without an art museum. So it was with great fanfare that the city revealed in December that it had approved an “exclusive negotiating agreement” with the Las Vegas Museum of Art to continue work on plans for a proposed 90,000-square-foot, three-story building in Symphony Park.

Harmon says the Las Vegas Museum of Art hopes to have three exhibition spaces that are constantly rotating so there is always something new on view for audiences. Rather than enlarging its physical footprint, LACMA aims to broaden its cultural reach, influence and presence in the West, and globally — a benign Manifest Destiny for the California visual arts scene. We first met 15 years ago fresh out of grad school, Michele honing her talents as a young architect, and James chasing his “white whale” of a career in the NFL. It soon became apparent that Michele was much more adept at her craft of spectacular design than James was of taking a hit. One tied knot and two kids later, we decided to combine creative forces – bringing together our talents in architecture, interior design, and business.

• Once furniture arrives, we install and style your home/space so it’s move-in ready. Immerse yourself in a community where every interaction is an opportunity for growth. At our co-living property, residents can engage in curated events and social gatherings that inspire collaboration, creativity, and personal development.
• Once the bid is approved, we develop a concept for the project that will serve as a roadmap throughout the process. The natural wood accents and furniture paired with vintage accessories bring it all together. Adding aged historic details like the brick and stone fireplace gave the new-construction home a better sense of history and belonging in the established neighborhood it resides in. A small vintage painting hung in the kitchen adds a soft touch to a more utilitarian space. The gardens and the story are inspiring and a testament to the love and hard work of the owners, Angus Gordon Lennox and his wife Zara. They have transformed a castle and its grounds in need of love into a beautiful and sustainable estate. What wallpaper you choose really depends on the space that you’re putting it in. There’s a difference between a showstopper wallpaper and a wallpaper that works more as a backdrop to your space where you can layer other patterns, artwork, etc.
Whether you're networking with like-minded individuals or exploring new interests, you'll find endless opportunities to connect and thrive. LACMA might be a de facto museum of contemporary art, but frankly it’s not a very good one. REFLECTIVEGreat design solutions should reflect the personality and spirit of those who inhabit a space, while holding true to the space itself. When all is said and done, your home should look and feel more like the best version of YOU than US.

At W Design, we tend to install wallpaper that feels like it can be layered—these are papers that show texture and have subtle pattern without feeling too busy. However, there is always a time and a place for a show stopping wallpaper. When a design is rooted in history, considers today, and looks forward to tomorrow it will stand the test of time. Authenticity to the client and design principles is our number one. Indulge in the convenience of meticulously curated, fully furnished accommodations at West Side Collective, where every element is meticulously designed to ensure your comfort.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is at a critical juncture in its efforts to push its Peter Zumthor-designed building project closer to the finish line. In an interview with The Times, Govan emphasized that continual expansion along Wilshire Boulevard would yield diminishing returns. LACMA is instead developing a “strategic plan of regional partnerships” with museums — large and small — in order to pull more of its collection out of storage, and make it accessible to as many people as possible. We offer Full Service Design for both residential and commercial projects.
ENDURINGWe acknowledge and embrace trends, without being owned by them. The success metric for any project, of any size, is “will the space endure.” Creating timeless spaces that serve their inhabitants for years to come is the hallmark of our collaborative “W” approach. For Govan, the collaboration with Las Vegas Museum of Art is the natural next step in his 21st century-museum paradigm shift.
